WHO - Wayne is a 64 year old retired US Navy Veteran & Orange Park native.

WHAT – Car & Truck Show

       There will also be a drawing for a flight in a 1941 WWII Stearman

       Biplane piloted by Capt John “Lites” Leenhouts, (USN, Ret).

       (Flight date & time to be scheduled for another date.)

WHEN - April 28, 2012 from 10am to 4pm

WHERE - Buffalo’s Southwest Café on Youngerman Circle

WHY - To help with Wayne’s medical expenses for his heart transplant.

In 2002 Wayne had 3 heart attacks in one day, five bypasses and was in a drug induced coma for 2 weeks. His heart only beats on it’s own at 25% capacity.  He is now on his 3rd defibrillator, which is his only means of life. Wayne has been through very thorough testing at MAYO Clinic and has been approved for a heart transplant. Although his insurance will cover the surgery, the strict regimen of expensive medications he will be on for the rest of his life after the surgery are only partially covered or not covered at all under his insurance.
